In the 21st century, 50 years after the introduction of digital technology, recording music purely analog only makes sense if the analog sound aesthetic reaches the ear without compromise. Our recipe: radical simplicity, quality, and concert-like musicianship. Thus, the sounds are captured by only two omnidirectional condenser microphones (separated by the Jecklin disc) and recorded directly onto a STUDER tape machine via a tube preamplifier.

The LP is produced using the DMM process, which allows for the cleanest playback quality. However, the outstanding quality of all components would be pointless if the Landenberg Hall didn't also have superb acoustics and if the musicians couldn't record their pieces with the necessary enthusiasm in a single take. In this way, snapshots are created that offer an exciting alternative to more complex recording techniques. The best moments of the three days are immortalized on the Landenberg Sessions DLP . And because this radical approach is also possible with digital technology, the tracks are also included as a HiRes download with the DLP. These are recorded directly from the microphone preamp to a NAGRA VI digital recorder.
